This place holds the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex on the island, having around 80 (known) caves. Sigiriya’s (meaning Lion’s Rock) famed Rock Fortress of King Kashyapa was once a royal citadel; it is where you can feast your eyes on the world-renowned Sigiriya Frescoes and observe intricate waterway systems and many architectural feats. Its main attractions include Cobra Hood Cave, the Frescoes, the Mirror Wall, Terraced Gardens, the Lion’s Mouth & the Palace atop the rock.
