Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive Chennai

Our representative welcome you at the Chennai airport and escort you to the hotel.

Day 2 : Chennai - Mahabalipuram

Afternoon, proceed for city tour visiting Government Museum, St. Paul Cathedral and Local markets.

Post visit, drive to Mahabalipuram, this city is known as the cultural capital of India and hence you can expect to experience a completely different side of Indian traditions and customs here.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 : Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry

Today morning, start the tour with a visit to stone temples of Mahabalipuram.

Later, drive to Pondicherry, a former french colony. Still the city boasts of its french aura and look. Check in at your hotel.

Day 4 : Pondicherry

Today morning proceed for special walking tour of Pondicherry French Quarters & Old City including Aurobindo Ashram, Mahatama Gandhi Statue, local markets etc. Later, enjoy your visit to Auroville.

Evening is at leisure to explore the beautiful city (driver on your disposal).

Day 5 : Pondicherry – Thanjavur

After breakfast, drive to Thanjavur (Tanjore). Check in at the hotel.

Afternoon, proceed to visit the World Heritage–listed Brihadishwara Temple, built between 1003 and 1010 by Raja Raja I. The outer fortifications were put up by Thanjavur’s later Nayak and British regimes. Also, visit Tanjore Art Gallery.

Day 6 : Thanjavur - Madurai

Post breakfast you will be driven to Madurai, one of South India’s great temple town and an ancient centre of learning.

Afternoon, enjoy visiting Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace followed by a visit to Meenakshi Temple to witness “Aarti ceremony”.

Day 7 : Madurai – Periyar

Post breakfast, drive to Periyar National Park. En-route visiting Theni’s spice market. From a comparatively dry landscape you will enter the dense forest of Periyar famous for its wildlife and rich vegetation.

Evening, enjoy your visit to Kalaripayattu Marshal Art Studio.

Day 8 : Periyar

Early morning, you will visit to a spice plantation with a naturalist Guide. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper. But there is a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantation in Periyar.

Afternoon, proceed for Spice Plantations tour and enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar.

Day 9 : Periyar – Cochin

Post breakfast drive to Cochin. Cochin ˜Queen of Arabian Sea” is one of the most interesting cities of India and has one of the finest natural harbours in the world. The ancient Temples, Churches and Synagogues in this district are of special interest to archeologists and historians. On arrival check in at hotel.

Evening, enjoy Kathakali Dance Performance.

Day 10 : Cochin

Today morning proceed for city tour visiting Jew Town, Mattancherry Palace, Chinese Fishing Nets and local markets.

Evening at leisure to explore the city on your own.

Day 11 : Cochin – Alleppey

Today drive to Alleppey where you will embark the overnight Houseboat that offers a best medium to sail on the backwaters. Referred as the ˜Venice of the East”, this backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life. All meals on board.

Day 12 : Alleppey - Kovalam

Disembark from houseboat and drive to Kovalam, famous for its three pristine beaches with shallow waters and low tidal waves where one can go surfing, wooden and motor boat riding. Check in at hotel.

Day at leisure to enjoy and relax on the beach.
